Hard disks Disks:Solid state Vs Magnetic- normal HDD drives has multiple disks called platters, these are covered in a magnetic case and spin at very high speeds. SDDs are very different as they are much more simple and use very little to no effort to save data. overall the better one and better value for money is SDD. HDDs the disk spins very quickly. this is very easily chipped and can ruin saved data and is a very big problem. SDDs never normally have problems which is vital for the component to keep working and allows optimum performance from the device.
Flash Memory Cards-small piece of equipment which enables data to be saved and allows pictures, audio etc. to be saved through a small efficient device. this device has memory on it which can be used to store data. if the component gets chipped or scratched, the data will be ruined and is not able to be fixed. this can result in the information being lost
Floppy Disk and Zip Disk (Old school)- Primary memory is computer memory which allows data to saved or found first or directly. the flopy disk is very small and has small memory on it. Normally if the disk would get ruined which would lose data. this is very common for floppy disks
USB Flash Drive-is the most common way to save data and comes in sizes from 1gb to 1000gb also its the most efficient way to save data as its a compact piece of equipment, when used carefully, the drive will not break . these are put into a computer and saves any data, the speed of download is also very quick depending on the USB drive. the top can come out or snap, which is a common problem but only when treated without care. also if the USB is not ejected correctly, the data can become ruined and delete data on the USB.
Primary Memory-Primary memory is computer memory which allows data to saved or found first or directly. this function is very quick and allows the computer to save data with no problems. Never normally has problems with using primary memory , only if the computer is broken. for example USB and flash memory cards
Secondary Memory-is the slowest and cheapest way of saving data. Is not common now days but people still have it. normally this uses CPU. Can be very slow and sometimes does not save data etc. this can be very unreliable.
Tertiary Memory- Tertiary storage is used in enterprise storage and scientific computing. Its very high tech and is not found in home computers. No problems normally. this type is very quick and allows the computer to work fast when loaded.
